After the interview I saw, I am not. No way. There are hundreds of more qualified republicans. In addition to that she is no 'maverick' she is a standard issue republican except for the fact she is fiscally liberal.

Fiscally liberal?? Support please.

from a Wasilla resident

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a "fiscal conservative." During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren't enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million.

1. She increased spending: liberal,
2. but increased taxes collected even more: conservative
3. She reduced property taxes: conservative.
4. She cut corporate taxes: conservative (I will ignore the editorial about how they benefited "large corporate property owners WAY more than benefited residents)
5. Left it with indebtedness of over $22 million: independent

From my biased count, she is mostly conservative with a liberal spending bias.

So...you think you saw the ENTIRE interview with Gibson...think again.

It shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone that MSM hates republicans and is openly cheering for Obama to win. But some of the responses that Palin gave that were edited out are unbelievable. Pay close attention to her response about Russia. Especially those of you who claim she "hates Russian" or "wants to go to war" with them.

PALIN: "And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor. "

shows she was completely caught off guard by the Russia question, which, in itself, tells a lot.

I just dont see it. Not with answers like:

"And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor."

To think that the Gov of Alaska would not be familiar with Russia is laughable. You can see Russia from parts of Alaska.

Again - when you see her full answer on Russia and Georgia - including the parts that were "conveniently" edited out by ABC, it shows she has full command of that conflict and has a full appreciation for our relationship with Russia.
