Seniors will still receive their Medicare benefits, as will those that are 10 years away from receiving by the time that any benefits would be discontinued. I can only agree with you about getting medical costs under control, but throwing another tax on the working and legal citizens (ObamaCare) is not the solution.

In case it wasn't clear, 'throwing seniors off a cliff' wasn't meant to be taken literally.

Those GOP'ers, real clever to try to make Ryan's plan not affect the current and soon-to-be seniors so they can still get their votes. Many 'youngers' are ignorant and won't realize how important Medicare is until they need it, but seniors aren't as selfish as today's younger citizens. They know how important Medicare is. They care about their sons, daughters, and grandchildren. I seriously doubt most seniors are going to be OK with Ryan's plan even if Ryan's plan doesn't affect them directly.

So, what is your solution? Dump seniors into a private system and too bad if they can't afford care because their coupon from their voucher book only covers 25% of the cost? It amazes me that people want to go back to a more private healthcare system when anyone with common sense can see what a failure it has been. Even the GOP says change in needed (but all they did was talk about it).

Oh, and what are those talk shows you listen to? Do you listen to Glenn Beck perhaps? Now that was trash when I listened to it... maybe good for entertainment, but trash if you take any of it seriously.

Whew Al. I was afraid there for a minute that throwing elderly people off of a steep ravine was your solution to eradicating a growing population of people that will need healthcare under the overwhelmed Obamacare system.

Glenn Beck? How'd ya know? Have my pantry stocked up with MRE's waiting for December. Oh, but wait, maybe he's not speaking of the end of the world, but the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. Sad day indeed. :(

CS Al--you have yourself a nice day! :)

It wasn't too hard based on your misinformation & being a 'birther'.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember that it's just entertainment! :D

If people only took such shows as entertainment instead of unbiased fact & news, then the US would be much better off... but oh well... what can I do except point it out here. 8)

For how long has Beck been predicting the 'end of the world'? I guess if he keeps it up, then he'll eventually be right one of these days, and right on something.

You have a nice day as well.

UPDATE: One last question if you don't mind... according to Beck, what date/month/year is 'the end of the world' scheduled for now?

Romney released what he is required to. How much money he's made is irrelevant and can only slant people against him because they're jealous or feel it's unfair. I don't blame him, he's roll'n in it and it's hard to think he has a clue what "real life" is really like, regardless of his pure and innocent, grounded life.

But then again, how does Barry know what real life it about? He's had a different kind of "special" life. Why is so much of his history sealed? We'll, except the dope smoking club from college.

How about Romney released what he had to, so did Obama? And then both candidates actually talk some real achieveable plans. Then I woke up.
Who Obama's teacher at college was is irrelevant regardless what CCR may think. I said it before, I don't remember being brain washed with Marxism in any of my college courses.

Ok Skiing: then how about Obama releasing the Fast and Furious documents and information on the intel leaks? Those are part and parcel to judging his competency as president.

There you go again. I say both sides stop, you keep barking. Sure, release them when they are not threatening our security or whatever other excuse is there now. Bush didn't release much about his actions while President, did he? Sorry, one in power decides what gets released while he is still in the office, doesn't it sound like that?

What is with the GOP's obsession to reduce taxes for the wealthy (even though they are the lowest they've been in decades) and increase them for the middle class?

http://gma.yahoo.com/paul-ryan-tax-plan-could-raise-middle-class-162237557--abc-news-money.html

While Mitt Romney would reportedly pay less than one percent of his income in taxes under Paul Ryan's previous tax plan, most Americans making less than $200,000 would see a tax hike under the budget of Ryan proposed before his selection to be Romney's running mate.

Wow! So Mitt only pays 1% in taxes, and the middle class get a tax hike... while this may not be his current plan, it does shed light on how they think.

Obviously flawed CS Al, but I do not foresee the Vice President setting tax and fiscal policy. But on the other hand, are you wanting to go back to the Clinton days that those who are successful are punished by high taxation? My husband and I were starting out, lived in a $100K home, drove a Honda Civic and Mazda 626 and the Clinton administration determined that we were wealthy and put us in a 39% tax bracket. Our CPA had us sit down before he would tell us what we owed the IRS after we both had claimed "0."

Great that the country realized a budget surplus during that administration, but it was hard to get ahead unless you were ultrawealthy or FOB. Now we have Obama who wants to give the people who are able, BUT unwilling to work, everything that people have worked hard for to provide for their families and--oh my--private retirement without the dependency on Social Security and Medicare.

Perhaps your attitude should be changed. I'd feel blessed if I were in the highest tax bracket making $250K+/year. Paying taxes is not punishment. Yes, nobody likes it, but it's not punishment. Do you think national defense, highways, police, fire, public education, etc are really free? Is it punishment to have to pay for these things?

The country did pretty well under Clinton, if I recall... much better fiscally than the GOP.

It's always "hard" to "get ahead"... though probably easier during the Clinton years than it has been in the last decade since the country's fiscal management went down the toilet, starting under Bush.

First, American was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, but secondly that America was free of the tyranny of England and its heavy taxation. We are heading toward that tyranny again under Obama.

So why not a flat tax? With the illegal issue, maybe a consumption tax, so that they pay their fair share into the system, too, since their children are being educated and they are receiving medical care. They also receive the benefit of the national defense, highways, police, fire, etc., that you mention CS Al, but pay nothing for it. So it really is free for those who pay nothing into the system.

Legal immigrants get it. America is the country to come to if you want a shot at having a better life. Unfortunately, we will keep going down the toilet with Obama's policies, not Bush's.

Hard work should be rewarded and not be punished. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with prosperity, but under this current president, you will be penalized for being successful if he is reelected. But you are obviously stymied by those green scales on your eyes CS Al. You are the definition of insanity, so I will leave it at that.

Have yourself a nice day, my friend!

A flat tax is not fair... but I'd be for a consumption tax. And people who don't pay federal taxes do pay other taxes... lest we forget.

So Bush was great? His tax cuts? His deficit spending? His unpaid-for wars? His unpaid-for Medicare expansion? His lack of regulation on the greed that caused the mortgage meltdown? That was good? Of course that includes Congress as well... I'm not blaming JUST Bush for those things as Congress is responsible too.

I used to listen to Glenn Beck sometimes, then realized it was just annoying trash that was trying to brainwash me. Hope you do the same & clear your head of this 'penalizing the successful' crap. What do you want, a system that taxes the poorest the most (how about 50%) because they should be penalized for being 'unsuccessful' and that gives the wealthy a 1% tax rate to reward them for being 'successful' because any taxes on the wealthy would be a penalty for being successful? Yeah, that's it... tax the poor the most and the rich the least. Let's 'punish' the poor & hard-working minimum wagers instead (because they are not 'successful') and not 'punish' the wealthy & successful. Nooooooooooo... we can't have the wealthy paying taxes - that's punishment!

So you do not believe that America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles? And fyi, I do not listen to Beck. You ASSu(not)me way too much. Beck is too apocalyptic for my taste. But you believe the Mayans, so I am a little surprised that you don't tune into Beck.

When did I ever state that I was in favor of a system that heavily taxes the poorest? In fact, I agreed with you that Ryan's proposal that would only tax Romney 1% was off. But what incentive is it under Obama's plan to fundamentally change America by using force of wealth distribution? So let's give the hard-working Americans' and job creators' money to those who do not want to work, because they are much better off receiving government handouts--that is what you are stating loud and clear NCS Al.

Since you don't like to 'punish' the successful, I thought you'd like to punish the 'unsuccessful' instead... seems that's fairly similar to what the GOP likes to do.

YellowRose wrote:In fact, I agreed with you that Ryan's proposal that would only tax Romney 1% was off.

That's good.

YellowRose wrote:But what incentive is it under Obama's plan to fundamentally change America by using force of wealth distribution?

The 'wealth redistribution' system needs work, but if you're listening to Beck, you're not getting the truth and probably think Obama is out to intentionally destroy the country and take everyone's money and give it to the lazy who could work but choose not to.

That's funny, because that's not what displays on my screen. Maybe you and JKTex have the same malware infestation that corrupts what your computer displays on the screen.

Please support your satement.

I grow tired of arguing with you because you constantly try to put ridiculous statements in the mouths of others, yet you act like you are a moral and respectable person. Big conflict there. I hope you can see that now.
