Sounds like the "Deliverance" crowd. Or maybe the new "Hunger Games" group.

Here we go, the liberal "guns are evil" "guns kill" "ignorance is bliss" crowd shows up for the party. :D Guns are things made from metal, plastics and wood that can't do anything on their own.

It's funny how y'all assume it will be a free for all party. Toss some guns out on a table and let'm grab what they want and do whatever they want with them. I can picture what it would be like, and it would be very educational for those poor kids of parents that teach kids how evil "things" are, rather than how evil people are, some of whom use "things" to do harm. They'd learn a lot more than you'd think.

I would imagine in a setting like that it would bore most kids because of all of the instruction and teaching of basic gun safety and how restricted they would be when handling them. And likely it would be .22 single shot rifles used, and in very restricted environment.

Kids that grow up in families that teach that firearms are evil are the ones that are most at risk of mishandling and never learning fundamental respect and safety.

Some of us grew up without any fancy NRA gun safety training and never knowing there was a such thing as indoor ranges and Range Officers breathing down your neck but parents and other family taught us simple, fundamental respect and rules that are never broken and we'll never forget.

Guess who are the ones involved in the tragedy's caused by negligence and ignorance? The ones that are curious and weren't allowed to know better.

Responsibility. It's OK to teach kids things like that; really, it is. :)

JK, I think the point of the thread is that it is strange for an indoor gun range to have birthday parties for children. I consider myself to be a Constitutionalist and agree with what you say above, but would you allow your child(ren) to have a birthday party at a gun range with their peers?

JKTex, I am giving you an award for making stuff up regarding what "the other side" is thinking ("guns are evil") and for going off on a tangental rant. :D

I don't see a problem with it if it's what they want to do and like any place a party would be held, safety for the kids comes first.

The comments like eluding to "Deliverance" and kids "partying" with guns etc. are what give away the thinking. Keep your kids away because any kid that has a party at a range has got to be the inbred spawn of Hollywood mountain people raised by the same with psychopathic tendencies that will give your kids cooties. :D

I thought....it might not be a big hit, but for those that did, it's a fun way for kids to be introduced to firearms and proper/safe handling in a controlled environment where they aren't going to be brainwashed to think they're going to go off by themselves and kill everyone in sight. You know, the kind of things the ignorant anti-gun want everyone to believe. They might find out they're valuable tools and also great recreation when respected. ;)

Jimmy Kimmel parodied indoor gun range on his shw tonight. Called it Chuck E. Norris and one of the rules was no shooting while in the bouncy house.

There is no obvious point that doens't say, "Hey, I have no idea what I'm talking about" or "I just have to say something and this is better than just saying "school bus and waffles".

Kids, Santa Claus... and guns?

IMO, if they really wanted to educate children about the proper use of guns (& having respect for them), then they wouldn't be misusing them as toys and props for pictures with Santa and as a marketing gimmick... and especially after recent events. Wow.

It's funny how you characterize things sometimes. BTW, I'm pretty sure they didn't get advance notice of the shooting.

We get it Al, you hate freedom and choice and personal responsibility. You don't have to like everything or everyone, but tolerance would be something you really ought to consider.

Personally I think it's kind of stupid, so I won't be sitting in Santa's lap looking goofy, nor will my daughter. But you know what? Some people have a different opinion and to them I say, good for you and have fun.

Al, I think there's a little place on the market in Russia that has all the happiness you seem to seek, ready and waiting for you. :D

We get it JKTex, you like wackos with guns and teaching kids to disrespect guns, all in the name of "freedom" and other buzz words which you love to throw around but don't even know what they really mean.

Are you and CCR close friends?
