I thought mine were going to blow out for sure. That was one of the most violent hailstorms I have ever witnessed in person. I'm sure we'll all be checking our roofs when the sun comes up!

Eastbound FM 407 is closed near McMakin in Bartonville due to a tree blocking the road.

One of the most violent I've experienced too, if not the most. It lasted a long time... fortunately the hail did not seem to get larger than golf balls and most of it was smaller than golf balls. Winds were pretty nasty too.

Five windows busted out at my house... several screens dented... even shredded my blinds and filled the bedrooms up with hail. That is all I can see right now. Fortunately no one was injured! I can only imagine the damage to the roof.

DFW Airport recorded 2.14" of rain while Denton Airport had 1.70" as of 4:00 a.m.

How much rain did we get in Lantana, Al?

Wow! Sorry to hear that. I thought for sure we would lose some windows at my house. We're up on a hill in Heritage (Lantana) and the west side of the house was getting hit so hard you could not hear yourself speak. There are also several fences down in Lantana as well.

If you suspect roof damage, consider calling my friend Cheryl Smith at Ridgeline Roofing: 972-814-5964

My car has hail damage all over it...the roofers are going to be knocking on the doors for the next several months...the hail was not that large, but is was blown hard enough to damage to roof, screens, windows, fence, gutters and garage doors.

I will be calling the insurance company this week.

1 window broken, just the outside pane. 0.58" of rain. I guess hail was bigger than that.
anyone recommending any glass companies?

Thought we got away w/ no damage last night even though storm was bad. Did another walk around this morning and found a broken window and trees shredded. Not sure about the roof but found a bunch of suspicious building materials around the house. Anyone have a good window guy?

I just walked around the house and will post some photos soon.

What I found:
* Fences dinged
* Bird feeder busted
* Lots of leaves "shredded" off trees & bushes & other plants
* Missing bark spots from some trees
* Garbage cans blown over
* Broken floodlights
* Dinged gutters, one of mine was also displaced
* Damaged wood frames around windows (minor) & other wood trims that took 'direct hits'
* Community pool furniture blown over
* Hail damage to vehicles (fortunately mine was in the garage)
* One piece of roofing material on the ground, but from my quick roof inspection, it looks OK (but probably needs closer inspection)
* Damage to my rain gauge

As for rain, there was about 3.45" inches in my gauge, but I didn't make sure it was empty before the storm so that's probably inaccurate.

I was watching the radar and it looks like an intense core passed over our area - where it shows white on the radar (I think it is one level off from the highest, which is light gray).

I have one of these:

But it still can be hard to get night good shots.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention, there were still piles of hail around.
