The severe weather on Tuesday damaged the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas’ Service Center in Denton. The Girl Scout Staff found themselves walking through large puddles of water as they entered the Denton Service Center on Wednesday morning. The large amount of rainfall on Tuesday flooded the Girl Scouts’ well-known log cabin in Denton on University Drive west of I-35.
The Girl Scouts need to replace the carpet throughout the log cabin, repair the water seal around the foundation, and replace ruined service materials and Girl Scout program tools. For more information on how to help the Girl Scouts repair the Denton Service Center, call (800) 442-2260 or visit www.gsnetx.org
