2012 Property Tax Appraisals

Postby admin » Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:56 pm

The Denton Central Appraisal District will mail out tax notices on May 9, 2012. Taxpayers will have 30 days to initially protest their values. The Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearings will be conducted from May 14th to July 20th. Good luck! :D

This is Debra Medina's thing. She continued pounding the the pavement with this since her failed shot at the Governors seat. She's serious about it.

Not a bad idea but issues to resolve and address. I like what they say about bond elections... and requiring taxpayers to be notified of current debt loads when voting for more debt... and how people are 'manipulated' into voting for more debt.

Got mine, down 8% from last year, looks like most in Larkspur are all down about that much based on scanning the web site. Yet selling prices based on recent sales are 10% to 15% above appraised values. So just leads more creedance to Appraisals mean nothing in regards to actual value.

Mine is up 5.08%. Highest its been since we moved here in 2004. My Building actually appraised less. Down 2.03%. My Land is up 25%. Did anyone else experience higher land value lower "improvements" value?

Mine is actually down too, almost 8% down... to a value I am satisfied with so I actually won't be protesting this year and can do something more productive. One year I thought the same thing but later received another notice which raised the value more than the first notice, so I hope that doesn't happen this year.

As for land value, mine is the same as last year.

After researching my street. We back up to a green belt. All of us who back up to a greenbelt experienced about 25% increase in land value. Our neighbors across the street did not. They back up to 407.

Land remained the same, improvements a little lower.

Ours went down a little too, about 5%. Lowest in about 4 years, when land value jumped up but it's stayed the same. But last year was a big spike up for ours, so it's back in the range it was. And same here, comps selling prices have gone up quite a bit over that same time period.
