Zoe's Kitchen soon in Flower Mound

Postby zappsi » Sun Jun 24, 2012 9:11 pm

S.W. Corner Dixon/Long Prairie next to Starbucks and Verizon Wireless (Robertsons Creek Shopping Center)...Meditterranean Fresh Casual.

I tried the Keller (Heritage Trace) location. Salads, Hummus, Sandwiches, Pitas, Kabobs,
Soups and Deserts, Beer/Wine and the ever popular Coke Freestyle dispenser.
Over 100 flavors of self serve beverages.

Comfortable, clean, friendly and relatively fast. Tables and booths. Patio seating as well.

Also has takeout family dinner option called "Take Home Tubs".

Website says it's the Highland Village location Coming Soon, but, it is actually located in Flower Mound.

Keller Zoe's management said FM location likely a few months away.

Welcome to Flower Mound Zoe's.

Looks too eclectic for my tastes. The chairs look uncomfortable.

You just need to wear your skinny jeans and and you'll fit in fine. :)

The food sounds good to me!
It doesn't matter if I've had my coffee or not.

I mentioned it and my wife got all excited. Apparently there's one out at Alliance that she goes to for lunch and likes it, a lot.

Zoe's Kitchen

Postby Rosemary » Fri Aug 24, 2012 1:48 pm

Last week I noticed a sign for Zoe's Kitchen next door to the Starbucks in the Robertson Creek Shopping Center on 2499. They are not open yet. I believe it's Greek and Mediterranean food. Has anybody ever been to one of them? If so, is it fast food or sit-down? It looks rather small.

My wife goes to one of them and loves it. I think it's a fast/sit down/eclectic kind of place. And I think you're right about the food, I think Mediterranean inspired. Who knows....

Oh wait, they have a website. DUH! :)

I looks like it's the Cantoni of food.

I meant to post this morning and forgot.

Zoe's is OPEN! I watched them putting the sign up this morning and this afternoon, people are sitting outside. As hot as it is, I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not.

We just ate there tonight. We loved the food. They had what I call the 'obligatory' kids menu. But their regular food was great. We'll definitely eat there again. For a family of four, the cost was similar to that of corner bakery or Pei Wei (About $30).

Ug, I guess I need to weigh in.

I've been 2 times. 1st time I was turned around, it was great which I didn't expect....although I wasn't sure what yo expect. I had the steak kabob's and while one of the most expensive things in the menu, it was awesome!! The roasted veggie and potatoes were worth it on their own!

2nd visit, last night. I was surprised to see how busy they were, both in the dining room and take out. I had the steak kabob again. Epic fail!!!

I absolutely hate, hate, hate when a restaurant substitutes or modifies a dish for whatever reason, usually laziness or cost savings. Looking around, it's a popular item and I noticed as 2 others got their order, soon after they were focused onlooking at the menu. Obviously I wasn't the only one that was surprised and not happy with a plate with a small scoop of cold, as in from the refrigerator cold, roasted veggies (broccoli pretty much) and a scoop of "POTATO SALAD". Potato salad is NOT roasted potato's and couldn't even touch the awesomeness of their roasted potatoes. The hot kabobs plopped down on top apparently were supposed to warm the cold stuff.

The kabob's themselves were nothing like the great flavor, tender medallions as a couple weeks ago. They were drenched in what I assume is a marinade, which covered any sign of the flavor of beef.

If you can't serve a dish as it's presented, don't serve it, or tell the customer so they can decide if they still want it.

That said, my wife loved her shrimp kabobs, and daughter liked her salad and humus OK although the massive pile of humus could use more than 4 tiny pita quarters.

Every time I start to give in and I'm ok with a new franchise/chain restaurant, they prove me right; for them it's all about the money and the customers will get over it, or not. There is a better way to do business where everyone wins.
