I needed tires today. Seems they don't do tires.... we need a tire place nearer to Lantana that's not all the way down past the Tom Thumb. :)

Firestone, Goodyear, NTB and Discount all within minutes, only 2 are past Tom Thumb (OK, 1 is about even), but they're near the liquor stores so you can kill 2 buzzards with 1 stoned. :D

I'm with Uther on this one. Why drive 5 .2 miles to get tires when you should only have to drive 2? Firestone tires are still on recall, so that's 12 stoplights (give or take a couple) to get to Discount.

I am very excited they are open. I hope they provide good service. I use the KK in Flower Mound on 2499 and they have done a great job. I cant say the same thing about the KK on 407 near I-35. Each is independently owned so they dont always have the same service. As I found out the hard way.

I figured this new KK is so close that if I brought my bike when I dropped the car off I could bike back home!

I've been to kwik kar twice. Once for a state inspection for one car and an oil change for the other. The oil changes start at 34.99, I believe. I thought that was high, but the service was nice and they consulted me on other items that I needed to take care of anyway. For instance, my brake lights happened to be out. I was going to run up the road and buy new lamps for them, but they changed them for me (5.99 each, for part and 1 minute of labor). They ALSO do basic services like system flushes and can check out your car head to tow. (Pun) I'm still a little shocked that their prices start at 34.99 for the oil change, but I'm hoping they'll throw in the car wash for free once that gets built.
I'll drive the extra 3-4 miles to get a cheaper oil change if they don't.

$34.99 for an oil change seems high to you? You must drive an american car! Try getting an oil change on a foreign made synthetic oil vehicle. Add an extra 0 behind the $34!

I wish my oil changes only cost $35. I pay a lot more every 5K miles (but thankfully not as much as Brian  )... but that does include some other regular maintenance stuff.

I do. 4 vehicles. Change the oil, check the tire pressures. Have '79 amc 304 on the engine stand now changing the pistons, rings, camshaft and timing chain for a jeep of mine. I always use the Kwik Kar in Argyle for A/C work, but will try the new one in Lantana next time. I can torque a head bolt but automotive A/C repairs and me, don't get along. Kwik Kar is a little pricey on freon, but you gotta do, what you gotta do.

Chevron at HV road and 407 charges 29.99 for standard oil change (hard to get in). The valvoline place further East charges 45 bucks. The Chrysler dealership South of Denton on 35E, where I get a few Jeep parts, had an oil change deal 3 months ago where you pay 39 or 49 bucks for the first oil change, and the next 3 were free, any vehicle. (don't know if the deal is still on)

No. I drive a Honda. Firestone has base oil change for 22.99. Celebrity is usually 29.99 and you get the car wash included. So I always figure it's really 20.00 + Price of a wash. And FWIW, I have over 180,000 miles on my car, so i end up spending more on my "High Mileage" oil changes.
