Do you tip your window washer?

Postby admin » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:49 pm

We are having our windows cleaned today at our home and are wondering if we should tip them or not.

My significant other says that we should. What do you think?

We use Paneless Window Cleaning: www.panelesswindowcleaning.net

The price is around $200 per visit for inside and out cleaning.

They do a great job and we didn't tip last time, which made us feel guilty in hindsight.

Our house cleaners did it. I think they did a decent but not great job. We didn't tip but I didn't think about it. Are you "suppose" to? I guess I have the same question myself.

Now THAT'S common sense.

I Googled it and it appears that there is no definitive answer: http://www.angieslist.com/AngiesList/Vi ... aspx?i=629

Admin,

Just a thought.

-We hire company to clean windows.
-Windows get cleaned.
-We are satisfied.
-We pay the bill.
-Window cleaning company makes profit (maybe). Employees get paid (maybe).
-We continue to use company (as long as we are satisfied).
-Company sends us Christmas card (or seasons greetings card) if we have a lot of windows and like them cleaned a lot.

Please don't make me feel guilty about not tipping the non-attendant gas pump. :D
