From Denton County Commissioner Andy Eads:

Update for Copper Canyon Road Construction

This week:
• The contractor will continue grading ditches and driveways
• JL Steel will continue trying steel for the concrete roadway
• Verizon, Crosstex and Bartonville will continue relocating their utilities in Phase II

Last week:
• The contractor graded ditches and driveways
• JL Steel will delivered steel and began tying it
• Finished up undercutting, embanking and the cement treating of Phase I
• Verizon, Crosstex and Bartonville began relocating their utilities in Phase II

REMEMBER it is very dangerous to move or drive around traffic control devices/barricades. It can cause significant damage to your vehicle as well as damaging the integrity of the roadway, causing some construction items to be re-installed. Doing so is also illegal “avoiding traffic control device” and a person can be fined.

thanks for the update admin, but does anyone care what they do on a week to week basis, rather care only for when the road will be done, especially when they are already 6 weeks behind?

Excellent point. Low bidder fails and will get nothing but accolades and many praises from the mayor, once completed. I more blame CC's half arssed engineers, that can't spell engineer with 2 e's much less, design and schedule road construction for a company that should be thrown under the bus for contractual ineptitude. Mark my words, in an up coming CTG Mayoral diatribe, coming to a doorstep near you, this company will get Many Kudos, from the CC mayor. CC ain't paying for the work. Denton County taxpayers are. Which means YOU.

Foreman Willie said this morning that after the crews left yesterday, someone blew barricade near fresh pour down by 407. Drove on top of the uncured concrete until it bogged 'em up a bit, got out and left a few footprints, then got back in vehicle and turned around.

Thanks Grey Beard.

What is with these idiots! Why not just cut your own throat. What a horrendous waste.

so the way I read these phases, phase 2 will shut the road down from where it will be finished now (still south of new connection to Copper Canyon from the new-Kendall neighborhood), to the north of that entry point from Kendall? If so, we still won't be able to access 407 from the end of Golf Club Drive, as we won't be able to go south after we exit Kendall?

With the impending widening of 407 and the completion of FM2499, repairing cc road is a waste of county taxpayer dollars. this should have been done on CC's nickel. I don't use it and I don't need it.
