Just watched GasLand... pretty scary/sad stuff. It reinforces my view that when big money is involved, the environment and your average citizen take a backseat to big oil & lobbyists & their attorneys.
Interesting about the "Halliburton exemption". The infrared video from the condensate tanks was also enlightening. You can't see anything with the naked eye, but look it with an infrared camera:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlVRzOCQKTAI thought it was a bit shocking too that they can just vaporize/evaporate the waste water into the environment. Guess where it goes.
And then there is the damage to the environment that they showed, where people use to be able to drink water out of the creeks, where kids grew up with nature, when it was clean & safe, and now it's contaminated.
And the gov't agencies that are suppose to regulate to protect people and the environment are often in the hands of the industry they are suppose to be watching over, or affected by legislation that was influenced by lobbying from the industry.
I'd say the vast majority of the documentary was very believable. I'll probably watch some bonus features tomorrow.
OK, enough of my spiel.
