Fireworks Ordinance

Postby admin » Sat Jun 30, 2012 1:06 am

The Town of Argyle would like to remind everyone that the Town prohibits the sale, possession, or discharge of fireworks within the town limits of Argyle. Specifically, Ordinance 2001-14 states that it is:

“unlawful for any person to sell, offer to sell, or have in his possession with the intent to sell, keep, use, discharge, cause to be discharged, ignite, detonate, fire or otherwise set in action any fireworks of any description within the city limits of the City of Argyle.”

An officer may confiscate all fireworks and a person found guilty of violating the ordinance is subject to a fine up to $2,000.

“The Argyle Police Department will take a firm stance toward the sale, possession or discharge of fireworks in the Town,” said Police Chief William Tackett. “Our officers will be out in force this July 4th to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday.”

The Town encourages its citizens to enjoy one of the many professional fireworks displays in the area.

For more information about the fireworks ordinance, please contact Chief Tackett at (940) 464 7254.

So does FM and all week we'll have them going off everywhere, at all hours of night thanks to the kids hanging out past curfew lighting them up at 2 AM.

Driving south on Highway 377 last night, noticed a fireworks stand was closing up shop on the east side of the road just south of Liberty Christian - must not be in Argyle?

There were two fireworks stands north of Liberty on the east side of 377, outside of Argyle town limits.

I didn't notice the second one, and after thinking about it I realized the one I saw was North of Liberty Christian and not South. They must be in unincorporated areas or another town/s but ever so close.
