Circle lenses fad could be harmful

I had never even heard of them before now ... but now I have to wonder about the ladies I saw selling hundreds of these at convention I was attending a few weeks ago. I never went to look and see what KIND of contacts they had, since I assumed they were the usual ones that just affect color and give people cat's eyes.

(I also admit that I would love to have a few pairs of them ... if they weren't contraband and possibly lead to eye issues.)
