Bomb squad called to gas station PDF Print E-mail

FM 2499 in Flower Mound was briefly shut down on Oct. 25 after a suspicious package was discovered at a gas station.

A police spokesman said that an employee of the Exxon gas station at FM 2499 and FM 3040 reported a box sitting next to the gas pumps around 8:30pm.

Upon investigation, police noticed a book referring to religion at the top of the box. The contents of the box were too dense to be determined by an X-ray, so the pumps were turned off and a bomb squad from DFW Airport rushed to the scene and blew up the package.

The box contained more books, police said.
