The Lewisville ISD will hold a public meeting this month about the district’s proposed budget and tax rate.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the LISD Administrative Center, 1565 West Main St. in Lewisville, according to a district news release. The tax rate that is ultimately adopted, whether at this meeting or at a later one, may not exceed the current proposed unless the district publishes a revised notice and holds another public meeting to discuss the revised notice.

The proposed budget is more than $661 million, about $40 million more than the 2017-18 estimated expenditures, though the projected enrollment is expected to drop from 52,473 last year to 51,737 this year, according to the district. The proposed budget has a 1.06 to 1.07 percent increase in total expenditures, debt service and maintenance and operations.
