LETTER: Why I’m voting for Steve Dixon

It’s been said national elections and politics doesn’t necessarily affect each of us in our day to day lives. However, local town elections do and have consequences!

The town residents voted Sandeep Sharma and Jim Engel into office last month. This is truly a sign, for me, that the town residents are affected by day to day traffic and the rapid growth of our town. (11th fastest in the nation according to recent reports.)

Although Sandeep and Jim may not always vote the way I like, I do know that they will have the resident’s interest and concerns as a guide along with what is ultimately in the best interest for Flower Mound.

Yes, I voted for Sandeep and Jim.

I spent 23 years in military and retired in 2009. I have been in corporate and civilian government jobs since then and had the opportunity to have direct relationships with senior military leaders and executives on both a personal and professional level.

I have seen leaders in crisis situations and day to day operations.

I respect those with management experience but what the town needs at this point and time is bona fide experienced community leader with proven leadership.

Steve has extensive experience on planning & zoning (P&Z) and town council (TC) just like Jim and Sandeep.

The mayor does not normally cast a vote (January 2016 was the last time on record) but must use their experience and leadership skills to lead the town council.

When it’s all said and done, the town needs a proven and experienced leader.

Steve Dixon will make Flower Mound, “Stronger, Together!”
