The Rotary Club of Flower Mound is preparing for its Swimarathon 2018, an event that aims to help End Polio Now.
Swimmers will seek sponsors to support them financially with pledges, then join a relay team, bring their own team or swim alone for 55 minutes. The friendly competition is open to all ages.
At the end, the total laps will be tallied, prizes will be awarded and swimmers will collect pledges, according to a news release. All funds raised will go to support End Polio Now, the international effort through Rotary International to eradicate Polio worldwide.
There is also opportunity to sponsor the event for $500. The sponsors will have their logo on a banner around the pool.
The event will be on July 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cross Timbers YMCA, 2021 Cross Timbers Road. Click here for more information and to sign up.
