While residents of Lakeside DFW in Flower Mound, Billy and Talitha Ledet realized that when they got home at the end of each day, they really didn’t want to have to leave their close-knit community of Lakeside DFW to run to the grocery store for last-minute items. They thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if there were a small marketplace here in the community that could offer both the basics to residents as well as some specialty items that can’t be found anywhere else in Flower Mound…”
Fast forward and now Billy and Talitha are the proud owners of the Market at Lakeside, which does exactly that. If you forgot an item at the grocery store, pop in to pick it up from the Market. But in addition to the staples, they offer some truly incredible and unique items including Val’s Cheesecakes (the ones that come served in jars), Pop Star popsicles, and kombucha on tap!
They also offer an incredible selection of wines and beers, and even offer wine tastings on Friday evenings so you can come sample some of the incredible wines they offer in their store.
On a beautiful evening, the Market at Lakeside has the perfect patio to enjoy a glass of wine and the music from the Lakeside Music Series. And they’re dog-friendly! While we were there, a Lakeside resident came in with her pooch and Billy and Talitha were fussing over him, making sure he was just as well taken care of as the human customer!
It’s apparent to me that Billy and Talitha love what they do and do it with a true servant heart. They want their Market to feel like an extension of their customers’ homes and do everything they can to make each and every person who walks through their doors feel special.
Talitha told us that they even curate items based on customers’ requests. Which seems like it’s something off of a 1950’s TV show, but it’s just really great customer service! So if there’s a particular brand of beer or pasta or cheese that you like, let Billy and Talitha know and they’ll look into stocking it for you. No joke – there were bottles in their refrigerator that had customers’ names on them!
It was such a joy to meet Billy and Talitha and learn about their vision behind creating the Market and where they see it growing in the future.
