Highland Village students advance to nationals in arts contests

Two Lewisville ISD students who attend schools in Highland Village have received the Overall Award of Excellence at the state level of the PTA Reflections arts program and have advanced to National PTA for the final round of judging, according to a LISD PTA news release.

Lucas Burton Brasher of Briarhill Middle School PTA advanced in the Middle School photography category, and Dylan James Shaw of Heritage Elementary School PTA advanced in the special artist music composition category. Dylan James received the Award of Excellence at the National PTA level last year in the same category.

In addition, Lewisville ISD students earned five Awards of Excellence, two Awards of Merit, and six Honorable Mentions at the state level. Five other students received Participation recognition:
