Two Flower Mound Fire Department members along with a brush fire truck deployed to Wichita Falls on Saturday to provide support in battling several large wildfires in the area.

The deployment was part of the Texas Intrastate Mutual Aid System, and part of a larger strike team that included members from the Highland Village, Lake Cities, Lewisville, Coppell, Frisco, and Plano Fire Departments.

Once the crews arrive in Wichita Falls, they will receive their assignment and may be deployed for up to seven days.

Over 20,000 acres have burned within the last week due to windy and extremely conditions in and around Amarillo, according to WBAP-AM News.
