Lady Eagles, Lady Lions advance

Argyle 65, Dallas Lincoln 63

It took two overtimes on Tuesday night against Lincoln, but Argyle pulled out the victory in the regional-quarterfinals round to advance.

Rhyle McKinney led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 29 points, while Sydney Standifer added 21 points.

Gabby Standifer scored 13 points for Argyle and Morgan Yarbrough scored 2 in the game.

Argyle will play the winner of the Gilmer/Henderson game at 8 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the TAMU-Commerce Field House in the regional semifinals.

Coram Deo 72, Dallas Shelton 58

Coram Deo in Flower Mound made history on Tuesday night with its first playoff victory in the sport of girls basketball, defeating Dallas Shelton in the bi-district round.

Piper Brandenburger and Ashley Faux led the Lady Lions in scoring with 29 points and 25 points respectively, while Kacey Heitschmidt, Emma Dwyer, Sophia Engman, Alexis Ashford and Katherine Phillips combined for 18 points in the game.

Coram Deo will take on Lake Country Christian in the second round of the playoffs at a time and date to be determined.
