Soon after one shoe store closed in The Highlands of Flower Mound shopping center, another will too close.
Famous Footwear will close Jan. 21, according to store employees. As of Wednesday, everything in the store was discounted 40 percent.
A corporate spokesperson could not be reached Wednesday for additional comment.
After it closes, the nearest Famous Footwear locations will be in Grapevine Mills Mall or on Loop 288 in Denton.
It’ll be the second shoe store to close in a short amount of time in the shopping center, located in the southwest corner of FM 407 and 2499. Payless ShoeSource recently closed down its location there, which is now up for lease.
The nearest Payless locations are one in Grapevine Mills, one in Golden Triangle Mall in Denton and one near I-35E in Lewisville.
