An Italian restaurant in The Shops at Highland Village shopping center has closed.

Patrizio, one of the first restaurants to open in the shopping center, served its final dish on New Year’s Eve, said Alvin Manrique, a Patrizio manager.

Manrique said Tuesday the restaurants owned by Dallas restaurateur Ed Bailey, including about a half-dozen Patrizio locations, have all closed in the past few years, with the Highland Village location lasting the longest.

Manrique said business struggled for all of the Patrizio locations, as well as a restaurant serving similar fare — Grimaldi’s Pizzeria — opening in a nearby spot in the shopping center.
