Atmos Energy is relocating some utility lines in Flower Mound, forcing closures of turn lanes near the intersection of FM 1171 and 2499, according to a town news release.
The project is expected to last about three weeks and will cause these closures:
- Eastbound FM 1171 far right lane to southbound FM 2499
- Northbound FM 2499 turn lane to eastbound FM 1171
- Southbound FM 2499 turn lane to Kroger Shopping Center at FM 117
The utility relocation project is the start of a larger improvement project which will add a designated right turn lane from eastbound FM 1171 to southbound FM 2499, according to the town.
To minimize the impact to commuters during rush hours, crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the duration of the project, excluding the turn lanes only during the final stage of construction, which may need to be closed for a few days, according to the town.
The town advised drivers to expect delays or avoid the area until the utility relocation is complete, if possible.
