Around Argyle – September 2017

Argyle Mayor Donald Moser

First, I would encourage everyone to keep everyone affected by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey in their thoughts and prayers. Not only the victims, who are so horribly affected, but also remember the first responders, police and firefighters who have responded to offer their assistance.

As a first responder who assisted in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, it is an exhausting and painstaking task. As the clean-up and recovery begins, I urge everyone to be mindful of the impending scams that WILL follow an event like this. If you want to help, the Red Cross is one of the most reputable organizations available.

We are excited to announce the confirmation of our new Town Manager, Matt Jones.  Matt has many years of administration experience which includes three years with Argyle as our Economic Development Director. I am excited as we work together to move the town into the next phase.

The town is excepting application for the different boards that assist the Town Council.  These include Planning and Zoning and the Crime Control Board. The town website has a link to the applications.

The council will be meeting twice this month as we finalize the 2018 budget. I encourage everyone to attend.

We have approved the installation of a video system which will allow us to record and post the video of the council and P&Z meeting.  We are excited for these improvements so please stay tuned.
