The first shotgun range in Denton County has opened.
DFW Clay Target Sports held a grand opening on July 1 in DFW Adventure Park in Northlake, just east of Texas Motor Speedway.
DFW Clay Target Sports features five trap fields with four skeet fields overlaid, as well as a full sporting clays course designed to be equally challenging for the novice and advanced shooter, according to a news release.
Practice traps are set up for the beginning shooter and customers who need to brush up on their skills, the news release said. Shotgun lessons will be available at the facility, as well as one-on-one lessons and group lessons by appointment. Safety training will be required for all who participate.
Future plans for the range include permanent trap and skeet fields and houses, a 3,000 square foot pavilion with restrooms, and a 5-Stand (a cross between trap, skeet and sporting clays).
DFW Clay Target Sports will be open Monday through Friday from noon – 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Children 9 and over can shoot when accompanied by an adult. For more information on DFW Clay Target Sports, visit its website.
