June is a time where we celebrate our high school seniors. They received their cap and gown, walked across the stage to receive their diploma, and moved the tassel from one side to the other. The day was filled with emotions—a sense of pride, excitement, and even fear. One of the seniors I spoke with was Logan Weitzer and he said, “I am excited about college and the freedom I will have, but it’s also scary because I have never lived on my own.”

The transition from high school to college, while exciting, can be scary. However, the parents of these seniors have done a phenomenal job at preparing them for their next adventure. I have spoken to many of these teens and can say that while fear is there, they know they have a solid support system from their family, friends, and even the Harvest community.

It will be hard to say goodbye to these young adults in the fall, but we do so in confidence knowing that they have all the tools and resources they need to succeed.
