UPDATE: The shift of the northbound I-35E mainlanes east onto permanent pavement over the original Lewisville Lake Bridge between Garden Ridge Boulevard and Swisher Road has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday, March 26.
In preparation for this traffic switch, the northbound I-35E exit ramp to Lake Dallas Drive will be temporarily closed at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 23. During the ramp closure, traffic will continue north along I-35E to the northbound I-35E exit ramp to Swisher Road/FM 2181 and turn right onto Lake Dallas Drive. This closure is scheduled to last through April.
To switch the northbound mainlanes, the following closures will be in place nightly from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 23 through Saturday, March 25:
- Two lanes of northbound I-35E between Garden Ridge Boulevard and Swisher Road
- The northbound I-35E exit ramp to Swisher Road. During this ramp closure, traffic will continue north along I-35E to the northbound I-35E exit ramp to Corinth Parkway, take the north- to southbound I-35E frontage road U-turn at Corinth Parkway continue south along the southbound I-35E frontage road to the eastbound Turbeville Road/Hundley Drive jug handle, turn right onto Turbeville Road/Hundley to Lake Dallas Drive.
- The northbound I-35E entrance ramp from Turbeville Road/Hundley Drive. During this ramp closure, traffic will continue north along the frontage road to the northbound I-35E entrance ramp from Swisher Road.
The work is related to the 35Express project, an expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County. All closures are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed, if necessary.
