I-35E lane shift rescheduled

UPDATE:  Northbound I-35E traffic between Main Street/FM 1171 and FM 407 will shift east onto new pavement 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10. Southbound I-35E traffic between FM 407 and Main Street/FM 1171 will shift west onto new pavement 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The lane shift was originally scheduled for this weekend but was postponed due to inclement weather.

As this work is being performed, motorists should expect the following lane closures nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 through Sunday, Jan. 15:

• • Two lanes of northbound I-35E between Fox Avenue and FM 407.
  • Two lanes of southbound I-35E between FM 407 and Valley Ridge Boulevard.
  • Various lanes of the northbound I-35E frontage road between Fox Avenue and FM 407.
  • Various lanes of the southbound I-35E frontage road between FM 407 and Valley Ridge Boulevard.

  The following ramp closures will be in place nightly from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 through Sunday, Jan. 15. (Please note, consecutive ramps will not be closed simultaneously):

  • The northbound exit ramp to Main Street/FM 1171. Traffic will take the exit ramp to Fox Avenue and continue on the frontage road to Main Street/FM 1171.
  • The northbound entrance ramp from Fox Avenue. Traffic will continue on the frontage road to the entrance ramp from Main Street/FM 1171.
  • The northbound exit ramp to Valley Ridge Boulevard. Traffic will take the northbound exit ramp to Main Street/FM 1171 and continue on the frontage road to Valley Ridge Boulevard.
  • The northbound entrance ramp from Main Street/FM 1171. Traffic will continue on the frontage road to the entrance ramp from Valley Ridge Boulevard.
  • The southbound exit ramp to Valley Ridge Boulevard. Traffic will take the southbound exit ramp to FM 407 and continue on the frontage road to Valley Ridge Boulevard.
  • The southbound exit ramp to Main Street/FM 1171. Traffic will take the southbound exit ramp to Valley Ridge Boulevard and continue on the frontage road to Main Street/FM 1171.

  This work is related to the 35Express project, the $1.4 billion expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County. All closures are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed, if necessary.
