Robson Ranch: Property tax freeze for seniors & disabled

Kathleen Wazny, Denton City Council, District 3
Kathleen Wazny, Denton City Council, District 3

Are you for or against?  It’s time to sound off, either way, and let the Denton City Council know where you stand.

The Denton City Council schedule is lined up to discuss the Property Tax Freeze on September 13th, at a City Council Work Session.  If they decide in favor (it will take a majority) a petition and an election will not be necessary.

However, if they decide against it, the petition organizers have said they are prepared to go forward with a petition drive to place this on the ballot in the May 2017 election.

Your opinion counts!  Please let the City Council know where you stand on this issue.  You can email or call the seven City Council members.  Even if they represent a district, they make decisions for the entire city.

Work Sessions take place in the middle of the day, and well into the afternoon.  They are held at City Hall, in the Work Session room.  The public is rarely allowed to speak and there is limited seating.  Some Work Sessions are “Open” and some are “Closed.”  If they’re closed, it means it will not be televised, the public will not be allowed in, and the press will not be allowed in.  When you email or call, please let the City Council know if you want this meeting to be Open or Closed.

It’s an honor to serve.
