The project consisted of demolishing the old existing 20-foot wide asphalt road from Highland Village Road south to Foggy Glen Court and constructing a new 31-foot wide concrete road.
As part of the project, the sharp “S” curve was redesigned and “softened” to provide more safety for both motorists and pedestrians using the adjacent trail system.
The new road has curb and gutter as well as a ten-foot trail adjacent the driving pavement.
The project started in September 2015 and had 240 calendar days to complete. Due to the weather and flooding, the project was delayed several times as a portion of the road is located within the Lake Lewisville flood plain. Final acceptance and contractor demobilization is anticipated to be late July/early August.
