The Flower Mound Fire Department announced its new Assistant Chief of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is John Glover, most recently the Fire Chief for the City of Highland Village.

Glover has more than 24-years of Fire and EMS experience, four of which were with the City of Highland Village. During his time in Highland Village, Glover improved the heart and health safety services and programs provided to residents, enhanced emergency response and planning citywide and implemented public education campaigns, focusing on health and safety and fire prevention.

“When Chief Glover began here four years ago I identified the need to improve and develop the department in all areas and capabilities for both fire and an emphasis in providing the best EMS in North Texas,” said Michael Leavitt, city manager of Highland Village.

The spring 2016 results for the analysis of the Fire Department Task Force response times showed the Highland Village Fire Department exceeding the National Fire Protection Association 1710 Standard for 96-percent of the time.  Glover was instrumental in ensuring the department maintains this standard.

He will support Flower Mound’s missions to deliver vital emergency services to those in need. In addition, Glover’s extensive EMS background and leadership skills will be the perfect fit for the Flower Mound Fire Department.

“Chief Glover has met and exceeded my expectations by all accounts,” said Leavitt. “I thank Chief Glover for his service, professionalism, and dedication to the men and women of the Highland Village Fire Department. It’s been an honor to have him as our Chief.”
