Double Oak Police Calls

The following incidents were reported by the Double Oak Police Department between April 20, 2016 and May 16, 2016:

Alarm – 100 blk. Hawk Crest Ln., Double Oak – Unknown reason for activation of a residential alarm.

Found Dog – 200 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A homeowner reporting finding a dog, holding it in their backyard, and then attempting to contact its owner.

Animal Control – 100 blk. Timberview, Double Oak – A resident found a skunk wandering around during daylight hours and trapped it in a plastic container.  Animal control was notified.

Ordinance Violation – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Officer observed several vehicles parked in violation of Town ordinance and obstructing the roadway.  The vehicle owners were contacted and they did relocate their vehicles.

Missing Person – 300 blk. Waketon., Double Oak – A family reported a missing teen.  Officers located the subject in Flower Mound and brought them back home.

Assist Agency – 500 blk. N. Hwy 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer acted as cover unit during an investigation conducted by Argyle PD.  A known subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglary of a Motor Vehicle In Progress – 1100 blk. Grant Ave., Lantana – Double Oak Officer assisted Sheriff’s Department with response to an in-progress call in which it was reported that suspects appeared to be attempting to steal tires, wheels and mirror off of their car.  Suspects fled on foot and weren’t located by responding officers.

Accident – 100 blk. McMakin, Double Oak – One car vehicle roll over requiring extraction of the driver by the fire department.

Theft In Progress – 9100 blk. Brownwood Ave., Lantana – Double Oak Officer assisted Sheriff’s Deputy with investigation into in progress theft at the site of a home that was under construction.

Reckless Driver – 8300 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Officer attempted to locate vehicle observed and reported by another law enforcement agency traveling at over 100 miles per hours.  Officer was unable to locate.

Missing Person – 700 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – A family reported a close relative missing since 11:00 a.m. the previous day.  Subject arrived home at approximately 2:22 a.m. as the officer was preparing the missing person report.

Reckless Damage – 200 blk. Double Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident’s mailbox was damaged by a sod truck.  Officer contacted the company and they wanted to speak with the Reporting Party to resolve the damage.

Theft – 300 blk. Brown Cliff Ct., Double Oak – A resident reported two pieces of stolen jewelry.  A known party had access to the residence.

Animal Complaint – 100 blk. Oakview, Double Oak – Report of a loose dog.  Animal control was notified and Officer attempted to make contact with the dog’s owner.

Alarm – 1100 blk. Triple Crown Ct., Bartonville – Assisted Bartonville PD with investigating a residential alarm call.

Disturbance – 1100 Maple Dr., Bartonville – Assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into a disturbance call which turned into a civil standby.

Assist Fire Department – 200 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – Medical call.

Attempted Fraud / Telephone Harassment – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A resident received a voice message from a fake Internal Revenue Service Employee threatening a lawsuit.  Complainant did not provide any personal information.

Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Highview Dr., Double Oak – Officer encountered multiple door to door solicitors.  All were directed to Town Hall to obtain permits.

Warrant Arrest – 8100 blk. FM 407, Double Oak – An adult female, 26 years of age was stopped for speeding and it was determined that she had five warrants of arrest from Little Elm.  Subject was taken into custody and later released to Little Elm PD.

Assist Agency – 3400 blk. E. FM 407, Bartonville – Officer assisted Bartonville PD with the criminal trespass warning of a subject suspected of stealing items from a store.

Arrest – 200 blk. Timberleaf, Double Oak – During the conduct of a traffic stop officer smelled marijuana coming from a vehicle passenger compartment.  The driver, an adult male twenty years old, was also wanted out of Denton County and the Denton County Constable’s Office.  Subject was taken into custody for warrants and cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Assist Agency – E. FM 407 and Branch Crossing, Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville PD with a wanted person.

Suspicious Circumstances – 3400 blk. E. FM 407, Bartonville – A witness observed an unknown male exit a Dodge Charge around 5:27 a.m. and run to a key pad / back door of a closed business.  Further investigation revealed that the subject was cleaning an office at the location.

Alarm – 300 blk. E. Carruth Ln, Double Oak – A witness reported an audible alarm.  Further investigation revealed it was a septic alarm at a nearby home.  Officer attempted multiple times to contact the home owner.

Disturbance – 200 blk. Meadowknoll, Double Oak – An anonymous person reported a disturbance between five people.  Officer responded and found a wedding party being hosted but no disturbance.

Alarm – 300 blk. E. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Officers responded to a residential alarm and found no signs of criminal activity and the house appeared to be secure.

Theft In Progress – 9200 blk. Brownwood Ave., Lantana – Officer assisted Denton County Deputy with investigating a possible theft in progress at a construction site.  No suspects were found.

Suspicious Circumstances – 2600 blk. E. FM 407, Bartonville – Double Oak Officer assisted Bartonville PD with a stop of three persons in a business parking lot.  Drug paraphernalia was found and citations were issued.

Suspicious Circumstances – 300 blk. Oak Trail Dr., Double Oak – A caller reported seeing a truck stop on Oak Trail and hearing a person yell at 3:30 a.m.  Officer checked the area and didn’t detect any criminal activity.

Criminal Trespass – 8300 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – At the request of a business representative an adult female was issued a criminal trespass warning.

Suspicious Circumstances – 8100 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Officer observed an occupied vehicle backed into a driveway at a church at 11:16 p.m.  Further investigation determined that the drive was attempting to take pictures of an inbound storm.

Disturbance – 320 Waketon Rd., Double Oak – A caller reported two adults engaged in a road rage incident on FM 407.  Both involved parties drove to the police department parking lot.

Suspicious Circumstances – 100 blk. Oakview Dr., Double Oak – A resident reported finding their pickup truck door open.  Resident doesn’t believe any items were taken.

Welfare Check – 100 blk. Royal Oaks Dr., Double Oak – A witness reported an elderly male parked on the side of the road and sitting with his door open.  An Officer checked on the driver’s welfare and determined he was lost.  Officer was able to provide printed directions for the motorist and notified his family.

Theft – 700 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – A resident reported that fifteen to twenty pieces of sod were stolen from his front yard between April 20th and April 21st.

Suspicious Circumstances – 300 blk. Meadowknoll Dr., Double Oak – A family member watching over a home, while the owners were on vacation, requested an officer walk-through after the lights were found to be out.

Fireworks – 1800 blk. W. Jeter Rd., Bartonville – Report of fireworks being discharged and scaring horses.

DWI – 200 blk. S. Hwy 377, Argyle – Officer assisted with the arrest of a Driving While Intoxicated suspect.

Assist Agency – 1700 blk. Goliad Way, Lantana – Denton County Deputy requested assistance with investigating an open door and a suspicious vehicle at a local business.  Officers searched the building and found no evidence of criminal activity.

Theft – 300 blk. Cedarcrest Ln., Double Oak – A homeowner reported jewelry missing from their residence. Estimated date of theft was between January 4, 2016 and April 22, 2016.  Homeowner reported numerous contractors as having had access to their house.

Suspicious Person – 200 blk. Timberleaf Dr., Double Oak – A witness reported an adult male on an electrical pole near the Double Oak water tower. A search was conducted and the Officer was unable to locate the subject.

Assist Agency – 1300 blk. Burnett Dr., Lantana – Officer assisted Sheriff’s Deputy with searching a foreclosed residence that was found to be unsecure. No one was found but there was evidence of an unknown person inhabiting the abandoned house.

Animal Control – 100 blk. Knob Hill Ln., Double Oak – Officer observed a brown and pink pig grazing next to the roadway. Officer returned the pig to its owner.

Traffic Complaint – 200 blk. Colonial Ct., Double Oak – Report of a tan or gold pickup truck doing donuts in the cul-de-sac with no concern for pedestrian or child safety. Vehicle was gone upon officer arrival.

Public Assist – 100 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Officer assisted an older resident with securing a garage door.

Motorist Assist – Justin Rd. and Cedarcrest Ln., Denton County – Officer assisted stalled motorist by helping move the vehicle out of the roadway until a tow truck could arrive.

Drug Paraphernalia – 400 blk. Cross Timbers Dr., Double Oak – During a follow up investigation into the theft of a phone, at the request of Lewisville Police Department, a Double Oak Officer encountered a male who was in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Subject was cited and issued a criminal trespass warning by Lewisville PD.

Suspicious Persons – 300 blk. Oakview, Double Oak – A resident reported three unknown women knocking at their door. Officer was unable to locate the subjects.

Suspicious Person – 500 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – A witness reported an adult male walking down Waketon Rd. with his pants falling down and then getting aggressive with a passing motorist. Officer spoke with the pedestrian and determined that he was wearing two pairs of pants (wind pants over another pair of pants). Subject denied being aggressive with any passing motorist.

Animal Complaint – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – Report of a dog incessantly barking. Officer remained on scene and documented fifteen-plus plus minutes of barking and then contacted the dog owner. Animal control has also been notified.

Minor Accident – 300 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – Car struck a mailbox causing damage.

Assist Agency – 1000 blk. N. Hwy. 377, Argyle – Double Oak Officer assisted Argyle with traffic stop, with multiple occupants, and the smell of marijuana. Officer cleared the location after the issuance of an open container citation and possession of drug paraphernalia citation.

Animal Complaint – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – Report of a barking dog. Owner of the dog was either not home or refusing to answer the door.

911 Hang-up – 300 blk. Oak Trail, Double Oak – 911 call from a construction site.  Officer checked the welfare of all present and no one admitted needing emergency services.

Street Blockage – 8400 blk. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Report of a branch in the eastbound lane.

Ordinance Violation – 200 blk. S. Carruth Ln., Double Oak – A complaint was registered regarding late work at a construction site. Officer made contact with the crew who had already stopped their work.

Alarm – 9200 blk. Simmons Rd., Lantana – Alarm on a model home. No criminal activity detected.

Suspicious Person – 100 blk. Cedarcrest Ln., Double Oak – A witness reported a possibly intoxicated male walking down the street. Officer was unable to locate the subject.

Animal Complaint – 100 blk. Cedarcrest, Double Oak – Report of a barking dog.  Witness explained owners had moved in the previous week. Officer left contact information on the front door.

Shots Fired – 200 blk. Valley View Trl., Double Oak – A witness reported hearing possible gunshots in the vicinity of Valley View Trl. at approximately 11:11 p.m. Officer remained in the area but was unable to locate the source of the noise.

Suspicious Circumstances – 3900 blk. Chapel Ct., Double Oak – A witness reported an unknown white car parked in front of a vacant residence. Officer ensured the residence was secure and that there was no evidence of criminal activity.

Traffic Complaint – 300 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – Caller reported loud vehicles at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. Knob Hill Ln., Double Oak – A caller reported four unknown solicitors, in a silver Mercedes, going door to door in their neighborhood. Officer located the subjects and determined they were engaged in protected free speech by introducing other people to their religion.

Motorist Assist – 100 blk. Chinn Chapel Rd., Flower Mound – Officer assisted motorist stranded in the traffic circle.

Assist Agency – 3400 blk. E. FM 407, Bartonville – Officer assisted Bartonville PD with an investigation into a reckless driver in a local business parking lot.

Assist Agency – 3400 blk. E. FM 407, Bartonville – Officer assisted with an investigation into an intoxicated person at a local business.

Minor Accident – 700 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – Distracted motorist ran over a mailbox.

Major Accident – 8300 blk. E. Justin Rd., Double Oak – Officer responded to a two vehicle accident involving a commercial vehicle and a small pickup truck with airbag deployment. One vehicle towed from scene.

911 Hang-up – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Accidental 911 call from toddler.

Disturbance – 100 blk. Twin Lakes Dr., Double Oak – Disturbance between family members.

Suspicious Activity – Justin Rd. / Copper Canyon Rd., Denton County – A caller reported following a gold Hyundai Sonata swerving in the road while the driver smoked drugs out of a “bong.” Flower Mound Officer made contact with Double Oak Officer as cover and a small amount of marijuana was found as well as multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Accident – 5100 blk. Shiloh Road., Flower Mound / Double Oak – A wrecker lost its load at Shiloh Rd. and Kings Rd.  Officer remained on traffic control until location was cleared.

Animal Complaint – 100 blk. S. Woodland Trl., Double Oak – Fifteen goats reported walking around resident’s property. Goats were herded home to Flower Mound.
