The Highland Village Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously approved the first gated 55+ active community in Highland Village.

The development, Ladera Highland Village, is an age restricted, maintenance free, gated residential community integrated with walking trails, parks and open space.

The community of approximately 100 homes will be located on the east side of Chinn Chapel Road and north of Chapel Hill Estates on an approximate 26 acre tract of land across the street from the Town of Copper Canyon.

The developer, Integrity Group, requested a change to the current zoning of the property from SF-40 (single-family with a 40,000 sq. ft. minimum lot size) to a Planned Development District for a Detached Residential Condominium Development. The Commission conducted a public hearing and received a presentation from G&A Consultants and Integrity Group.

The gated community, the first of its kind in Highland Village, will include an amenity center, community pool, gazebos and pavilions, sport courts, green space and walking trails.

The development will consist primarily of single story homes and some two-story homes, all with attached oversized two-car garages.

The City Council will hold a public hearing and receive the presentation from Integrity Group and G&A Consultants at their meeting on July 12.

Integrity Group has developed 55+ active communities in Mansfield, Ladera Mansfield, and Keller, Villas of Stone Glen.
