Lantana Community Association board member, Darrel Amen; Insight Association Management president, Bruce Crawford; and Lantana Community Manager, Mark Norton at the Association’s annual meeting on Feb. 23.

Lantana Community Association Manager Mark Norton invites residents to wake up and join him for a cup of coffee and conversation this Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Visitor’s Center.

“This is our first ‘coffee’ meeting, but it’s the beginning of what will be a staple event in the future,” said Norton. “We plan to do something like this every quarter; next will be a ‘happy hour’ get-together for residents who aren’t available for mornings and then we’ll just flip-flop them.”

He said the “meet-and-greets” are designed to be an opportunity to better educate residents about how the association management company, the Board of Directors and the residents all fit together with Lantana’s private golf course, the Fresh Water Supply Districts and CoServ.

“The biggest problem we have is that people don’t understand Lantana’s a ‘different animal,’” said Norton. “If we [the administrative staff] refer someone elsewhere for an answer to a question, it’s like if someone were to call the police department because their house was on fire, the police would tell them to call the fire department.”

He added that another reason behind the meet-and-greet opportunity is that it will hopefully make it easier for residents to approach the staff and ask questions; and, for the management company build relationships with residents to keep them updated.

“It’s always better to have a face to put on the other end of the phone conversation,” said Norton. “I’ve been in Lantana for eight years; the first six with deed restrictions and the last two as community manager. What I know is that we’re all in this together.”

Take the opportunity to learn about what’s happening in Lantana, meet the Association staff members and get answers to any questions you might have this Thursday, March 31, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Visitor’s Center, 10185 Lantana Trail. Call 940-728-1660 for more information.
