The Voices of Flower Mound
The Voices of Flower Mound

The Voices of Flower Mound, directed by Mary McGuyer and accompanied by Dr. Migeun Chung, will present “Blast from the Past 2,” a concert of old favorites dating as far back as the 1960’s, on Saturday, October 24th, at 7 p.m.

“Old Time Rock and Roll,” “It’s a Wonderful World,” which was made popular by Louie Armstrong, and a rousing rendition of “Rhythm of Life” will be among the selections to entertain you.

The Psalms Children’s Choir from Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, directed by Victor Lozada, will be featured during the performance.

The Voices of Flower Mound (VFM), a chorus of area men and women, was founded 9 years ago. In addition to its regular concerts, the VFM performs with the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church choir and Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra in an annual patriotic concert, and in “Rejoice”, an annual fundraiser for Christian Community Action, with orchestral and choral musicians from several area churches and community choruses. The VFM has also participated in performances of Mozart’s Requiem Mass and Handel’s Messiah with the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra.

The October 24th concert will be presented at Flower Mound Community Church, 3515 Cross Timbers Rd., located on the south side of the intersection of Glenwick Blvd and FM 1171.

Advance tickets, priced at $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, can be purchased from any chorus member or by contacting Ron Miller at 972-899-2238. Ticket prices at the door are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Group and family prices are available on request. No charge for children under 6.

There will be refreshments and a craft and bake sale during intermission and after the concert.
