Highland Village secretary earns regional award

Highland Village City Secretary Diane Callahan was recently honored with the 2015 North Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year award.

Callahan has been both a volunteer and board member of the Municipal Clerk Association while serving as the city’s secretary.

Mayor Charlotte Wilcox mentioned Callahan’s professionalism, leadership, achievements and contributions as a municipal clerk at a recent city council meeting.

“That is awesome. That makes me happy, it makes me proud because we know what you do for us, and I don’t know that everybody knows what you do,” Wilcox said as she hugged Callahan.

Callahan has worked for the city for 15 years and through the tenures of six mayors. She plans to retire in September.
