Flower Mound Town Council Message – January 2015

Referring to Flower Mound’s significant accomplishments in 2014, without question, it is the economic vitality that our town is experiencing; new employers moving to town, new business and restaurants opening, and more are on the way!

The expanded tax base gave the council the opportunity to lower property tax rates for all residents while continuing to provide exceptional services that we all expect.

As for hopes for the new year, we will continue what has already begun, including further progress at both the Riverwalk & Lakeside DFW, as well as breaking ground for our first hotel.

Additionally we will continue our efforts to assure Flower Mound delivers our residents a quality of life not available elsewhere in the metroplex by investing in our parks and drawing attention to drug use in our community so that we can become a healthier community.

Town celebrates regional headquarter opening

On January 5, town officials celebrated the opening of the Whitlock regional headquarters in the Lakeside Business District along with Whitlock’s leadership team. Known as a leader of innovative global audiovisual and unified communications solution provider, Whitlock will support both its national and international clientele at its Flower Mound location and will add over 100 jobs to the community. Due to rapid growth, Whitlock’s new regional headquarters is twice the size of its former location.

Marquee Whitlock customers include the Dallas Police Department Fusion Center, HKS Architects, Novartis (Alcon), BNSF Railroad, Sub-Zero/Wolf, Winstead, and the high-profile Victory Park in Dallas. Whitlock is located in Crow Holdings’ newly-constructed Lakeside Ridge development, located at the southwest corner of Lakeside Parkway and Gerault Road.
