J.D. Monson & Sundown and the University of North Texas Two O’Clock Lab Band will performing this week for free at The Shops at Highland Village.
Presented by Healthcare & Physical Medicine, the live music begins Thursday at 7 p.m. featuring J.D. Monson & Sundown, country and western musicians who have toured the U.S. and Mexico. J.D. Monson also has written songs for such TV hits as “Eleventh Hour.”
On Saturday, UNT’s Two O’Clock Lab Band will perform their jazz repertoire beginning at 6 p.m. The band has garnered state and national attention, winning first place at the Texas Music Educators Association state convention and was invited to perform at the International Association of Jazz Education.
“This is one of the ways we connect with the community,” said Ravi Wadhwa, general manager for The Shops at Highland Village in a news release. “It’s entertaining, it’s relaxing, and best of all it’s free for everyone to enjoy.”
Restaurant patio seating is available at the South Fountain between Patrizio’s and Chico’s. Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to the 352,000-square-foot lifestyle shopping center at the corner of FM 2499 and FM 407. The Shops at Highland Village features Whole Foods Market, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 11 restaurants and 60 specialty shops. No glass containers will be permitted at the outdoor concerts.
