Foodie Friday: New York Style Pizza right here in Flower Mound

I was talking to one of my Foodie Friday followers a couple of weeks ago and she told me about one of her favorite local pizza spots – Enzo’s NY Pizzeria in Parker Square.

I’m always in the mood for some good pizza, so this week we decided to head over to Parker Square and enjoy some of Enzo’s finest Italian cuisine.

One of the things I love about Enzo’s is that business partners Enzo and Dino are right there working alongside their other employees, behind the counter and in the kitchen. And are constantly walking around asking everyone how their meal is going.

Kari also loved this place because it reminded her of her 2-month stint in New York after college graduation – it truly is like a little piece of New York right here in Flower Mound.

I think they were a little surprised with how much we ordered considering there were just two of us, but we told them it’s all for the benefit of our Foodie Friday fans! (Well, and there were just a lot of things that sounded delicious.)

So, we started off with some garlic cheese bread and one of my personal favorites, fried ravioli. The cheese bread was perfectly cooked and the garlic to cheese ratio was spot on. And the fried ravioli…. you just need to try it. It’s cheese ravioli fried to perfection and served with a tomato sauce that has a great depth of flavors and freshness with its chunks of tomato.

For our entrees, Kari ordered the “New Yorker” pizza which was pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, grated Parmesan, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil served on a delicious New-York style crust – thin and floppy, just the way it should be.

I went with the pasta lunch special with manicotti served with a salad. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce added such a wonderful flavor to it.

And then they also brought out MORE bread for us – these delicious garlic rolls that almost look like cinnamon rolls. And I wouldn’t mind eating these things for dessert. They were awesome!

If your kids want to celebrate the end of the school year with some great pizza, head over to Enzo’s this weekend to grab a whole pie or order by the slice. Oh, and don’t forget the fried ravioli! Tell Enzo and Dino hello when you get there and tell them you read about them on my blog!

I’m so grateful for our fellow Foodies who are constantly suggesting their favorite spots for us to try! We’ve found so many great new places to eat that we wouldn’t have otherwise, and we hope you have as well!

Have a great first weekend of summer, Foodies! And stay tuned for another great Foodie Friday spot next week!
