Construction of the Moviehouse & Eatery in south Flower Mound is officially underway. Dirt work for the free-standing 45,000-square-foot entertainment facility began last month with an opening slated for May 2015.
Lakeside DFW developer Realty Capital Management announced in February that Austin-based Moviehouse & Eatery would be building its newest location on the northwest corner of FM 2499 and Lakeside Parkway.
The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan for the theater on April 28, which will have eight auditoriums and around 900 seats.
“Moviehouse & Eatery is a perfect fit for Lakeside DFW and the Town of Flower Mound,” said Jimmy Archie, Managing Director of Realty Capital Management. “Their location in Austin has been very successful and we are excited they have chosen Lakeside for their newest location.”
According to a press release from Lakeside DFW, Moviehouse & Eatery offers an upscale movie and dining experience with reserved seating in plush electric-recliners with individual dining tables. An extensive menu is offered as well as a full-size bar with specialty drinks and local beers on tap.
Ticket prices will average only two dollars more than a traditional movie theater, and patrons who are not planning to see a movie can still utilize Moviehouse & Eatery’s lounge area to order food and cocktails.
Lakeside DFW is a 150-acre urban-style development that will contain single-family homes, apartments, restaurants, shops, hotels, and a boardwalk. At build-out, Lakeside will have approximately 2,200 residences and 705,000 square feet of commercial space at a combined value of $750 million to $1 billion.
