I am proud to announce our first annual Argyle Community gathering that will happen Saturday, April 19th. We are going to have the function at the Argyle High School, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have live music, lots of food, and bounce houses for the kids, along with a huge Easter Egg Hunt for all ages. We are asking that you bring canned goods for the Argyle Food Bank as your entry fee. Bring a lawn chair and come enjoy the music, food and friends.
The Community Event will start Saturday morning with the Lion’s Club fundraiser. They will begin a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. which will include pictures with the Easter Bunny. The breakfast will be $5 per person or $15 for the entire family. They will also be collecting old eyeglasses and cell phones. If you have any questions, please contact the Lion’s Club or Susan Curry at 940-464-4200.
Bring your family starting at 8 a.m. for pancakes and plan on staying for lunch with lots of fun for the whole family.
If you have an organization that helps Argyle, please plan on having a booth to let the community know how you are helping Argyle. We would love to have you.
Old Justin Road is nearing completion and then we will look forward to the improvements on Country Club Road. The Town is currently working on the sewer line relocation on Country Club Road to be completed before the County begins the improvements.
We are looking forward to the update that we will receive from the Parks Board in April. I am anticipating exciting developments and ideas for Argyle.
We are continuing to find better ways of communication. I have been speaking with the school board and trying to find more ways to get information to our citizens on the happenings in Argyle. The town and school are working together to provide news to the citizens along with public input to give us suggestions and new ideas. I want to thank Eric Fields for volunteering to be the School’s liaison to the town to help with our distribution of future town projects.
Our annual clean-up day is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th from 8 to 11 a.m. We will have more information to you soon.
Please don’t forget to mark your calendars for Saturday, April 19th Community event. Bring all of your old eyeglasses, cell phones, and canned goods. We want to make this a spectacular event.
