Foodie Friday: Seven Mile Cafe in Highland Village

LOVERS OF BRUNCH – boy do I have a great new spot for you to try. I spent my lunch today enjoying a fabulous meal at Seven Mile Cafe in Highland Village and I’m so excited to share my experience with you!

Seven Mile’s original location is in Denton near Historic Downtown Square and they have opened up a second location in Highland Village. It’s only open until 2:00 because this place specializes in delicious breakfast and lunch items. The portions are huge, the environment is modern yet cozy and the food is amazing.

Kari and I decided to try out some of their breakfast options today. We ordered a custom egg-white scramble which comes with hash browns and your choice of toast, cinnamon roll or raspberry breakfast cake and a Belgian waffle which comes decked out with bananas or strawberries, Nutella drizzle, whipped cream and walnuts.

But let me tell you, it was DIFFICULT to remain on-diet with their incredible-sounding selection of pancakes. Chocolate chip pancakes. Pineapple Upside Down pancakes. Red Velvet pancakes. Cinnamon Roll pancakes, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pancakes. And this month’s special are Strawberry Shortcake pancakes. Yeah, I want to eat all of those. Which is ok because they offer a Pancake Sampler plate where you can choose 3 pancake flavors.

And their lunch menu looked delicious as well with soup and salad options, burgers and sandwiches.

Those of you who are animal-friendly foodies will appreciate that Seven Mile Cafe also offers several vegan options including vegan cheeses, black bean burgers and vegan pancakes.

I can’t wait to go back and try lots more of the menu items. Because I had eggs benedict for breakfast this morning, I did not order them again at lunch, but those of you who know me know that I’ll definitely be trying out one of their varieties next time.

Let me know what your favorite menu items are and I’ll be sure to add them to my list!

And be sure to share our review with your friends and neighbors so we can help these local businesses thrive. Check back next week and see where Jay Marks heads next!
