Firefighters rescue dogs from burning home in Flower Mound

Firefighters rescued two dogs from a home that caught fire around midday Wednesday in the 1500 block of Superior Place in Flower Mound.

Flower Mound Animal Services responded to the scene to help treat the dogs and used special oxygen masks that were donated by rescue groups, according to Flower Mound Fire Chief Eric Metzger.

The home sustained major damage but no injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze has not been determined.

Grapevine, Lewisville, and Coppell assisted Flower Mound firefighters. The Highland Village Fire Department also assisted by filling in and responding to additional calls.
