Constables Corner

Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas will all be in order once you have finished reading this column, because these Holidays have either passed or are soon upon us.  So I want to take this time to update everyone on everything that has passed, plus what is coming in the near future.

We recently celebrated Roanoke Days, where I offered everyone a chance to really get to know me, and even exact some pungent on me during the event where I volunteered in the dunking booth to be dipped in the water.  Let’s just say I did not say dry very long!

On Halloween Eve, my office assisted many of the local agencies in my precinct by checking the residences of convicted sex offenders to ensure they were not enticing children to their homes.

The Town of Double Oak recently had their Annual Golf Tournament, where proceeds raised went to benefit their all-volunteer Fire Department.  I was delighted to not only be a major sponsor, but also a participant in the tournament.  The work of those in this great cause and its department does not go unnoticed, and I commend those of bravery and sacrifice as our first responders.

Flower Mound has had an exciting change, and I want to welcome a very special friend of mine, Officer Andy Kancel, who is the new Chief of the Flower Mound Police Department. He will make an excellent addition to the community and I look forward to working with him.

As the Holiday Season rapidly approaches, my office will be assisting the local law enforcement agencies with increased patrol for residents and businesses to ensure all of us enjoy a safe and happy season.

On a personal note, I have always been a most spiritual person and that having been said, I want to invite everyone to my first and what will be my Annual Christmas Party & Fundraiser that will also serve as the December meeting in conjunction with the Flower Mound Republican Club. You can learn more details about the party and RSVP to attend at www.timburch.com.

Christmas has always been my most favorite Holiday. During this time, my office always graciously helps to provides food, clothing, and shelter for underprivileged families throughout my precinct. For anyone in need during these Holidays, please feel free to contact us at and we will glad to help in any way we can, because that is what makes it so special in this position.

2013 certainly has passed by in a whirlwind, and I want everyone to know I will always be totally transparent and open to full disclosure, and appreciate the lessons and education I have endured in my first year serving as your elected Constable.

I want to thank everyone for their support, and if you ever have any questions or concerns you wish to discuss, I welcome your input.

An extra special thanks to Max Miller for his generosity and helping make this article possible, and to my Campaign Manager Candace Simon for her continued support and contribution to my cause.

Happy Holidays!
