Hickory Hill Road closure to affect school, commuter traffic

Construction will begin on Hickory Hill Rd. in Argyle this week and motorists should plan on taking another route to work or school.

Both directions of Hickory Hill Rd. between Stacee Lane and Orchid Hill will be closed to commuter traffic starting Tuesday, according to Denton County Commissioner Andy Eads.

Motorists coming from Lantana can take Hickory Hill west from Stacee Lane to Hilltop Rd. northbound to Old Alton eastbound as an alternate route to access FM 2181 and Guyer High School.  See a map of the detour here.

Residents living along the closed section of Hickory Hill can access their homes by using the northbound/westbound lane of Copper Canyon/Hickory Hill between Orchid Hill and Stacee Lane.

The road closure is expected to be in place until the end of November.

In addition, the intersection of Copper Canyon Road and Orchid Hill Road is currently under construction and scheduled to be open by the end of September.
