Dallas-based Beverly Development Corporation announced plans to develop a 106-acre master-planned development named Southgate at Flower Mound at the southern entry of town.
Southgate at Flower Mound will be located at the intersection of Gerault Road and FM 2499. The intersection has over 51,000 cars per day and is only about five miles from DFW Airport.
It is the best location for Flower Mound’s first premium hotel and Class A office development, according to the developers. The hotel and office buildings at Southgate will overlook Grapevine Golf Course and be only one mile from Grapevine Mills Mall.
A market feasibility study is being launched to determine what high end office, hotel, and restaurant users require to locate in Flower Mound.
“We have a unique opportunity to attract Fortune 500-level corporations, a high end hotel and quality restaurants to this property in Flower Mound,” said Stephen Williamson, president of Beverly Development Corporation.
“The market study will help determine the proper proportion of components, such as restaurants, retail shopping, and residential development required to attract Class A office development and jobs to Flower Mound.”
Long time Flower Mound resident Mark Glover is working with Williamson to help determine the needs of the Flower Mound community and the amenities to include in Southgate at Flower Mound.

Southgate is soliciting citizen and town input over the next few months as the market study is being completed.
Glover said that Southgate is also committed to sustainably developing the site by preserving natural drainage, topography, specimen trees and pecan groves throughout the development.
“We want to develop the property responsibly and showcase the natural beauty of the land,” said Williamson, noting that the development will include nature areas, water features, and walking paths throughout the development.
