Bartonville Police Report

Bartonville Police Officers responded to 67 calls for service and issued 98 citations and 20 warning citations during the month of May. Officers investigated 9 vehicle crashes in Bartonville and assisted with 9 crashes in other jurisdictions.

A small sampling of calls for service:

Theft – An Officer responded to a theft report at 7-11 where a customer’s wallet was stolen.  The investigating officer was able to recover the wallet and the victims identifying documents. The suspect has been arrested.

Road Blockage FM 407 – A horse trailer became detached from the towing vehicle and came to rest in the roadway.  Officers provided traffic control until the trailer could be reattached and removed. There were no injuries.

Animal Control – A citizen called to report a litter of raccoons that were abandoned by their parent.  The caller contacted an animal rescue group to take custody of the litter.

Assist Double Oak PD – Double Oak PD responded to a runaway call. Two juveniles were reported runaway.  An officer responded to assist and located one of the runaways on Shiloh Rd in Flower Mound. The runaway was turned over to Double Oak PD.

House Fires – Officers assisted on two house fires, the fire on Blanco, in Lantana, and the fire on Hilltop.  Both fires were in unincorporated Denton County. Officers assisted with traffic and crowd control.

Power Outage – Officers directed traffic in the intersection of FM 407 and FM 1830 during a 45 minute power outage.

Reckless Driver/DWI – A citizen called in and said they were following a reckless driver/possible DWI on FM 407. A Double Oak Officer was able to get the reckless driver stopped and was assisted by a Bartonville Officer.  The incident occurred on a section of FM 407 that is in unincorporated Denton County.  The investigation was turned over to Sheriff’s Deputies.
