The Marcus baseball team opened its regional quarterfinals round series with a 6-4 victory over Grapevine Thursday evening at Marcus High School.
Jack Cushing earned the victory for the Marauders, and Austyn Laird homered in the game.
Nick Lewis and Matthew Holcombe both doubled in the game for Marcus.
Game two of the series will be played at 7:30 Friday evening at Grapevine High School.
