The Argyle baseball team had to rally, but managed to do just that on Thursday night against Melissa, defeating the Cardinals by a score of 9-8 in Frisco.
The Eagles won the area round game with a 3-3 night from Tyler Gibson, who drove in two runs, as well as two RBI each from Dave Coghlan, Dillon Harp and Seth Jones.
Argyle trailed the game by four runs at one point, but had great pitching from Brandon Boyzuick, who struck out three batters in the final two innings, to close the game out.
The Eagles will take on Melissa at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in what could be the deciding game.
